Rugby Munchkin Classes in Beckenham  

Learning rugby at an early age helps children develop self-esteem and confidence. At Munchkin Sports, we offer rugby classes for children aged 2 to 7 years-old in Beckenham. We teach child-appropriate basic rugby techniques while developing their social interaction skills and well-being. Every rugby munchkin class features something different from your typical rugby class. For instance, we teach them basic skills through the use of music and colours.

All our rugby classes are completely non-contact and suitable for both boys and girls. Not only will your child develop a passion for playing rugby at an early age, but they will also develop their core motor skills. Our classes are separated into three age groups:

2 to 3-Year-Olds

The youngest rugby munchkin class runs for 45 minutes and aims to introduce our munchkins to basic skills such as agility, balance and holding the ball with two hands. We use coloured mini rugby balls to make our munchkins more interested to participate in the games. Our lead coaches facilitate interactive games such as kicking over the posts, scoring tries and using the tackle bags.

3 to 4-Year-Olds

Similar to our classes for 2 to 3-year-olds, these sessions also run for 45 minutes. In this class, our lead coaches refine the basic skills the munchkins have already learned. They facilitate rugby-specific drills such as touch rugby, side-stepping and timed team events that incorporate healthy competition.

4 to 7-Year-Olds

In this 60-minute class, we further develop our munchkins’ core rugby skills by facilitating mini non-contact rugby games such as tag rugby. Our games focus on teaching new skills to the munchkins for them to develop their competitiveness and motor skills. Not only will they become better rugby players, but they will also enhance their social and communication skills.
