We offer basic rugby classes for kids in Eltham aged 2 to 7 years old, helping them develop their motor skills, social interaction and confidence. We introduce child-appropriate rugby techniques, taking each child on a fun and interactive journey. For instance, we teach basic rugby skills using music and colours.

All our rugby munchkin classes are completely non-contact and suitable for both boys and girls. As a UK Active Kids accredited sports club, we put safety as a priority alongside the kids’ enjoyment. We also encourage parents to join the classes so they can cheer for their kids, keeping them motivated and enthusiastic.

To keep the younger munchkins from feeling intimidated, our classes are separated into three age groups:

2 to 3-year olds

Our youngest rugby munchkin class aims to introduce kids to basic skills such as balance, agility and holding the ball with both hands. We use coloured mini rugby balls to increase the children’s interest to participate in the games. Our lead coaches facilitate interactive activities such as using the tackle bags, kicking over posts and scoring ties. This class runs for 45 minutes.

3 to 4-year olds

In this class, our lead coaches refine the basic skills of the munchkins by facilitating rugby-specific drills such as side-stepping and touch rugby. The kids also participate in timed team events that encourage healthy competition. Similar to our classes for 2 to 3-year olds, this session runs for 45 minutes.

4 to 7-year olds

This 60-minute class further develops the munchkins’ core rugby skills. Our lead coaches facilitate mini non-contact games such as tag rugby, focused on developing the munchkins’ motor skills and competitiveness. Not only does the class teach them to be better rugby players, it also enhances their social skills and communication with the other kids.
