Rugby Classes for Kids in West Wickham

In each class, we offer brand new experiences to develop their skills and interest in rugby. Not only will your child learn rugby at an early age, but they are better equipped to build their self-confidence and social skills.

Our rugby munchkin classes are separated into three age groups: 2 to 3-year-olds, 3 to 4-year-olds and 4 to 7-year-olds. Each class is led by a friendly coach who makes sure that each munchkin gets the most out of every session.

Basic Rugby Skills

The youngest rugby class we offer is for 2 to 3-year-olds. This class focuses on introducing the munchkins to basic rugby skills such as developing agility, balance and holding the ball with two hands. Their skills in socialising and engagement are also challenged and developed with teamwork. We use coloured rugby balls for fun pod-like games such as kicking the ball over posts, scoring tries and using tackle bags.

Rugby-Specific Drills

The next class we offer is for 3 to 4-year-olds. In this class, we focus on what the munchkins have already learned and concentrate on drills such as touch rugby, side-stepping and timed team events that involve healthy competition. We use colour-coded mini rugby balls for the munchkins to further develop their hand-eye coordination.

Mini Rugby Games

For 4 to 7-year-old munchkins, we further their core skills through mini rugby games. Our coaches facilitate tag rugby, a non-contact version of the standard rugby game. In each game, the munchkins can identify their role in the team and hone their social skills by strategising on and off the field.

In our rugby munchkin classes, we encourage parents to participate by cheering for their child. This stimulates their enthusiasm to join the games and score a point for their team.
